Hi there, I'm Tracy, and I'm the founder and proud owner of Serenity and Balance. My journey all started when I was living in the USA, where I saw firsthand just how powerful reflexology & human touch can be. My husband received a cancer diagnosis, and I wanted to do everything I could to support him through that. That's when I discovered reflexology and how it could help manage his symptoms and help him find calm while dealing with so much anxiety & stress associated with his treatment cycles.
Seeing the difference it made in his well-being sparked something in me – a desire to pursue this path and help others and a promise I made to him that I’d carry on with this path after his death.
So, I began studying reflexology, driven by this newfound passion and a desire to help more people. But as I learned more, I realised that I wanted to expand my knowledge, to offer a more well-rounded approach to care. That's when I found myself at Grantham College, just 3 weeks after my husband's funeral, I was a scared, anxious adult learner. However, I was introduced to the most incredible supportive tutor who just fuelled my enthusiasm for holistic therapies even further, and my passion grew.
I built a dedicated treatment room in my back garden where people could come to unwind, to let go of their stresses and just be in the moment, the here and now.
As time went on, I kept adding to my toolkit. I completed courses in a range of different therapies, and then, I was introduced via Grantham College, Shared Beauty Secrets, where I was trained in the wonders of lava shell massage.
Throughout this whole journey, my main focus has always been on helping people, no matter their background or circumstances.I am a special needs parent, full time carer to my son who has autism and a learning disability. I understand how we are all different and we need to be treated with respect, kindness and empathy, when you come through my door, you will receive the same respect & kindness, while been treated as an individual.
While I was studying at Grantham college, I had the privilege of having the opportunity to visit Grantham hospital over a few months, offering free mini massage treatments to their staff, for wellbeing & wellness for the NHS. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to support numerous individuals on their wellness journeys, which has also enhanced my skills and expertise as a therapist.
My goal with Serenity and Balance is to offer a truly holistic approach to well-being. I believe that the mind, body, and spirit are all interconnected, and that's how I treat each and every person who comes through my door, I treat the whole person. Nothing fulfils me more than knowing I've made a positive difference in someone's life.

Experience the ancient healing art of reflexology, which focuses on applying pressure to specific points on the feet to promote overall well-being. This holistic therapy is based on the belief that each area of the foot corresponds to a different part of the body. By targeting these reflex points, I can help stimulate your body's natural healing processes, improve circulation, and reduce stress.

Using high-quality professional products and techniques, I'll cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturise your skin, while also providing a soothing facial massage to promote deep relaxation.
Lava Shells
Indulge in the warmth and comfort of a lava shell massage, a unique and deeply relaxing treatment that combines the benefits of heat therapy with the soothing effects of massage. Using smooth, self-heating porcelain shells, I'll glide them over your body, allowing the slow deep movements to warm the muscles and relieve stress and strains to melt away tension.
My practice is based in Grantham, which means it is easily accessible from Newark-on-Trent, Sleaford, Bourne, Melton Mowbray, Lincoln, and Stamford, as well as the surrounding areas.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears. These points, known as reflex points, are believed to correspond to different organs, glands, and parts of the body. By stimulating these points, reflexology aims to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and support the body's natural healing processes. It works on the principle that by treating the reflexes, we can help to balance the energy flow throughout the body, leading to improved well-being.
Reflexology is generally considered safe for most people. However, there are some instances where it may not be appropriate, such as during pregnancy (particularly the first trimester), or if you have certain health conditions like recent fractures, blood clots, or active infections in the feet. It's always best to consult with your healthcare provider and discuss any concerns with your reflexologist before starting treatment. They can advise you on whether reflexology is right for you.
During a reflexology session, you'll typically be asked to remove your shoes and socks and sit or lie down comfortably. Your reflexologist will then examine your feet and begin to apply pressure to various reflex points using their thumbs, fingers, or sometimes specific tools. You might feel a sense of relaxation or you may notice areas of tenderness or sensitivity. Your reflexologist will adjust their pressure accordingly and may focus on areas that feel tense or 'crunchy'. The session usually lasts around 60 minutes.
After a reflexology session, most people report feeling deeply relaxed, with a sense of improved well-being. Some people might feel a bit emotional or tearful, which is a normal response to the release of tension. You may also notice an improvement in your sleep, mood, and energy levels over the following days. Occasionally, people may experience mild temporary side effects like feeling thirsty, needing to use the toilet more frequently, or feeling a bit lightheaded. These are all normal reactions and usually pass quickly.
The number of reflexology sessions you'll need will depend on your individual circumstances, such as your overall health and the reason you're seeking treatment. Some people find that they benefit from regular sessions, perhaps every few weeks, as a preventative measure or to maintain good health. Others might have a course of treatments to work on a specific issue. Your reflexologist will be able to advise you on a treatment plan that's right for you after your initial consultation.
While reflexology doesn't claim to diagnose, treat, or cure any specific health conditions, many people find it helpful as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical care. Some conditions that people often seek reflexology for include stress, anxiety, headaches, digestive issues, menstrual disorders, and insomnia. Reflexology can also be beneficial for general relaxation and well-being. If you have a specific health concern, it's always best to consult with your healthcare provider first and discuss whether reflexology might be a suitable complement to your treatment plan.
